I have received the report, what now?

When you receive the EVI well-being survey report, it's important as a leader not to fall into the trap of engaging in 'detective work' and investigating where each individual employee has placed themselves on the questions. It's an anonymous survey, and you should respect the anonymity of each individual.

Instead, you should approach the results with a broader perspective. Be curious about the correlation between the well-being categories, the questions, and the stress risk for your department or organization.

Answer distribution and dispersion on each question

It can be challenging to interpret the data if there is wide dispersion in the answers to each question. As a leader, you can approach this with curiosity and consider what factors contribute to such significant differences in experiences.

Conversely, if there is not much dispersion on each question, it may indicate a more homogeneous experience among the employees. In such case, your task as a leader is to be curious about the similarities within the team while also being attentive to individual differences in the interpretation of the question.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is your overall impression of the collected responses?
  • In which areas is the team performing well?
  • In which areas is there room for improvement?
  • Are there differences in the responses among participants? (consider response distribution)
  • Is there something in the results that you don't immediately understand?
  • On which aspects are you particularly curious about your employees' perspectives?
  • Are there any results where you need to provide your own interpretation to your employees?
